Not many people know the name of this church but have seen it because it is located at the top of the Spanish Steps one of the most popular landmarks in Rome. The Trinità dei Monti was completed in 1585 and opened by Pope Sixtus V. The high altar looks imposant. Next to the altar in the side ceiling you find amazing wall painting with decorated arches. In Italy you still find very religious people, in the middle of the church a nun is prayer on the floor. In the side chapels you find master pieces of paintings and sculptures. This is a very nice church to visit and for us as interesting as the Spanish Step at the Piazza di Spagna.

I was never inside this church, thanks for the tour:-) I actually find (personally) this place(the stairs and around) completely overrated and touristic, I did not feel cozy there at all...I prefer the Piazza Navona an dthe three gorgous fountains there:-) did you see them?

Pictures are timeless, most I like is the picture with the lady in white cloth prayers !
ReplyDeleteThe art work is fabulous and so too the interior decorations and architecture. Great shots too especially the one with the nun.
ReplyDeleteWe didn't go inside this church, but I'm glad you did! It's lovely. :)
