General Impressions of Bridgetown, Barbados

Kristel is posing in front of the Welcome to Barbados sign, we are going to explore the city of Bridgetown and received a nice walking map from the tourism office. Time to use some sun protection cream on Independence Square, the sun is burning. Bridgetown has many locations with flowers and this is providing a warm feeling. On a local vegetable and fruit market, older women try to sell their crop, the little shops look very poor. The population, houses, flowers, shops, the whole city and community are very colourful. What a privilege to travel and see all these places in the world.

Kristel poseert voor het welkomstbord van Barbados. We gaan de stad te voet ontdekken en krijgen een goede wandelkaart van het toerismebureau. Op het Onafhankelijkheidsplein is het tijd om nog eens te smeren, de zon brandt op de huid. Bridgetown heeft veel bloemen in de stad en dit geeft een warme uitstraling. Op een lokale groenten en fruit markt proberen oudere vrouwen hun oogst te verkopen, de stalletjes zien er heel pover uit. De bevolking, bloemen, winkels, de stad en de gemeenschap zijn zeer kleurrijk. Wat een voorrecht om te reizen en al deze plaatsen in de wereld te kunnen aanschouwen..
