With a borrowed SLR camera, I decided to take a few practise shots from the 25th floor of the building I am working in. The weather is not optimal and I have to take the pictures through windows which are screaming for a cleaning session. The people working on this floor say that each day, people come here to take pictures, so I am not as creative as I thought.
Since I love details, I am starting with close-ups of buildings and cars just below me, the tram passes by. At the horizon, I see the windmill of the harbour of Rotterdam, this is a distance on about 20 km. The sun plays with the clouds and occasionally breaks through. The light is fascinating. Turning to the other side, I see the skyline of The Hague, the governmental capital of The Netherlands.
My decision is already made, I am going to buy a Nikon D7100 but I am not sure yet of the lenses. Probably I will decide by the end of the month.

ReplyDeleteLie(f)s.
All I can say is, if you are shooting through a dirty window, then the borrowed camera is doing a wonderful job! I've seen some of my shots through windows that were dirty and they never turned out this good!
ReplyDeleteeen toestel met enorme mogelijkheden Filip...
ReplyDeletealvast succes er mee
groeten
Wow you have quite the view!!! You will love the camera and the lens decisions are always the hardest. I have to say the lenses that came with my slr kit were perfect to start though, one that will do wide angle to mid range and a telephoto.
ReplyDeleteMooi apparaat!
Lovely. It would be nice to work so high. And I'm sure you'll take more and more pictures in different weather.
ReplyDeleteGreetings
Great shots - no sign of the dirty windows, but Filip you go to work!!! I thought that you spent all of your time travelling the world.
ReplyDeleteLovely photos, no sign of a dirty window at all. When you buy your new camera I do believe we all will be seeing some supurb photos in great detail.
ReplyDeleteGreat shot of the sunrays streaming through the clouds.
ReplyDeletenice view
ReplyDeleteSo many things to love here. The beautiful sun rays...they are hard to capture in a camera lens and don't tend to show up very well...yours DID. And the colorful buildings!
ReplyDeleteWonderful shots, Filip!! What a great idea to buy yourself a DSLR camera. You will be so glad you did. I personally shoot with a Canon and have just upgraded from a Canon 1100D to a 7D... just waiting for it to be delivered!
ReplyDeleteI look forward to what you capture with your new camera.
Just an aside from this post... Bec is in hospital (she has been there for almost a month). I know you have been a great support in the past but. she hasn't mentioned it on Facebook as she doesn't want everyone to know. I thought you should know.
Thanks again Filip!
ReplyDeleteFirst and fifth especially atmospheric - sense the impending downpour...lovely pics (that do not reflect the dirty windows!)
ReplyDeleteAnna :o]
Good luck Filip. I know that's not an easy task. Unfortunately I'm not able to help you because I use Canon body and objectives.
ReplyDeleteHave a great weekend. Groetjes, Miklos
cool entry, I should do similar report too-hihi:-))
ReplyDeleteThank you for the high-level tour. It looks like you really enjoyed testing the camera. I use a 18-200mm lens with my Canon camera. I am not sure Nikon makes this lens, but it has a wide focal range for travel usage.
ReplyDeleteleuke overzichtsfoto's Filip. Groetjes, Dietmut
ReplyDeleteAll lovely shots and now you have your own DSLR. Can't wait to see your photos from your new camera! Have been scrolling back to see if you had done anything on the tower of london. That was a place that fascinated me when I was there. Have a lovely evening
