Naples is one of the best ports in the Mediterranean Sea for Cruise passengers

On many European cruises you find Naples on the etinary and there are good reasons for this. The Italian city with its three million inhabitants has a lot to offer ranging from shopping, museums, churches and monuments. You could spend several days here.

The port has the second highest passenger travel in the world after Hong Kong. This is partially realised via cruise travel but also the ferries to islands near Naples. Ideal for cruise passengers to enjoy a cheap day trip to Ischia, Sorrento or Capri.

If you don't want to take a ferry and have already seen Naples. No worries, the Vesuvius volcano and the ancient city of Pompeii are close by. In Naples with the Celebrity Equinox we were docked alongside the Norwegian Epic, the third largest cruise ship in the world. On our picture of the two cruise ships, the Equinox is on the left side.

  4. When we flew to Naples the plane had to stack whilst waiting for it slot. The plane spent the time flying round and round the edge of Vesuvius which was so exciting as we had a wonderful birds eye view right down into the centre of the volcano.
