Finding the Flemish Primitives in Prague was a surprise. The fantastic National Gallery palace on the Hradčany Square dates from the 16th century and was built in rococo architecture. The inside of the building is not so spectacular but it holds a permanent exhibition of paintings. Sometimes the light in the building and the focus on the paintings was not so good but still worth a visit. In this article I am showing some pictures of the building and also of paintings from Rembrandt and Peter Paul Rubens.

Yes, you do not find such houses in old town in Prague. But For me the atmosphere is not necessarily only the clean and fresh painted house. Paining is covering the soul.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful pictures from the National Gallery.
These artists seem to have had a very serious and severe form of painting. A bit frightening. Talented, to be sure though.
ReplyDeleteSo beautiful details. I like pictures.
ReplyDeleteGreetings, Carmen
