Court of Appeal in the legal capital of Alsace, Colmar

We were expecting a small court building here in Colmar, where all houses are cozy, but the Court of Appeal is enormous. This almost 100 year old master piece of Baroque architecture looks great and has an appropriate size garden. The façade of this building is an attraction for photographers. We were already wondering how the interior would look like and tried to get inside. The guard checked all other bags and we requested permission to take a few pictures in the main hall where the tapestry above the staircase was an eye catcher.

Bij ons bezoek aan het Hof van Beroep in Colmar, een stad met kleine gezellige huisjes, hadden we nooit verwacht dat deze rechtbank zo enorm groot zou zijn. Dit Barok meesterwerk van ongeveer 100 jaar oud ziet er zeer goed uit en heeft een aantrekkelijke tuin. De gevel is een attractie voor fotografen. We vroegen ons al af hoe het interieur er zou uit zien en probeerden binnen te geraken. De beveiligingsagent keek onze zakken na en daarna kregen we de toelating enkele foto’s te maken in de grote hal waar het wandtapijt boven de grootste trap een Eye Catcher was..
