Holland Dans Spektakel in Cuijk, Our competition report

This Easter weekend we exceptionally had a Ballroom competition on Monday. It was a lot of fun and we end up in 6th place again. Our first round was a little tricky due to a very slippery floor, so I had to hold back some power in order not to lose control. The semi final we took this into account and prepared our shoes to cope with this situation, we had an excellent round and reached the final. Our final was from a technical perspective very good for our level. We were hoping for a 4th place but it was 6th. Next week we are going to Steenwijk for the second last competition of our season.

Holland Dans Spektakel 2011, Cuijk - Videos

It has become some kind of tradition after our competition report we publish a few videos. Most of the time a video of our own dancing, the final of our own class and the final of the Champonship class. On this occasion we only have recordings of the Championship class. Enjoy the excellent quality of these ballroom dancers.

Our second competition in the NADB C-Class resulted again in an exit after the redance round. We end in place 7 out of 9 couples but were pleased with our dancing. After the first round, our coaches Herman and Michele Lak gave us some pointers on head stability and framing of the arms. The redance was a lot better in the Waltz, Tango and Slowfox. Because of some tension in our bodies and general uncertainty, the quickstep was the weakest dance. All by all we were disappointed with the competition result but are now even more motivated to train and fight back. Giving up is a word that doesn't exist in our dictionary. Thanks for the nice pictures taken by Rob Ronda. Our Love2Move team mates Peter Gerritsen and Angelique Faber did better to end on place 5. Congratulations.

Onze tweede competitie in de NADB C-Klasse eindigde weer in de herkansingsronde. Proficiat.

Holland Dans Spektakel 2010, Cuijk

In Cuijk, there are always many couples participating. This year, the D-Class was 27 couples strong. It was a field with good quality dancers and we were expecting difficulties to qualify directly for the semi-final. We finished the first round in second place with 14 crosses. After a good performance in the semi-final we were announced as first couple for the final. We finished the competition in 7th place. A very unlucky situation, two adjudicators gave us all first places and the three other adjudicators gave us only 7th places. How is this possible? Luckily our trainers, Tony and Amanda Dokman have given us positive feedback on our progression. We are already looking forward to our next competition.
