Maintenance problems at Six Flags Great Adventure, Jackson

We are rollercoaster fans, no doubt about that. We were "Six Flags" fans, maybe we still are? We will have to evaluate when we visit again one of their top parks in L.A., "Six Flags Magic Mountain". We are going to start with a positive note. We were surprised and impressed with "El Toro", a fantastic wooden coaster. Normally we don't like wooden coasters but this one is super. "Nitro" is a steel coaster and is good and smooth, the same applies for "Bizarro", a nice active coaster. To our disappointment the good news stops here.

The record breaking coaster "Kingda Ka" is more down than running, at 16:00 it had been running for a total only 2 hours on that day in three intervals. The ride is shaky and not comparable to "Top Thrill Dragster" which is a lot better. The park seems to cope with many maintenance problems, they are tearing down the "Great American Scream Machine" and their flying coaster "Superman Ultimate Flight" was not running for days. They were working on the "Saw Mill log Flume" and people were walking down from the hill of the wooden coaster "Rolling Thunders" instead of riding it. The staff in the park were friendly but they refused you to stand on stairs or at the exits to take a picture or a video recording. Not service oriented. "Six Flags" in Jackson really has to think hard about their service and maintenance. It's a pity, "Six Flags" was the leading amusement park company in the world and from what I saw here and all the parks they are selling, it is going downhill. Please invest in maintenance and service and become a top park again.

General Impressions of Trenton, the Capital of New Jersey

Trenton is the Capitol of New Jersey, and we stayed here because it was close to Six Flag Great Adventure in Jacksonville. We visited the State House with its golden dome in which the government of the State is located. In front of this nice building you find the World War II memorial with a photo display. In the same street (West State Street) you also find the Thomas Edison State College. In the city there are many civil servants and after 5pm they all leave, restaurants close their doors and you get a feeling of emptiness. We don't think it is very save after working hours, hotels add security, close the entrance and the hotel parking is guarded by several security officers day and night. A strange town.
