Trenton is the Capitol of New Jersey, and we stayed here because it was close to Six Flag Great Adventure in Jacksonville. We visited the State House with its golden dome in which the government of the State is located. In front of this nice building you find the World War II memorial with a photo display. In the same street (West State Street) you also find the Thomas Edison State College. In the city there are many civil servants and after 5pm they all leave, restaurants close their doors and you get a feeling of emptiness. We don't think it is very save after working hours, hotels add security, close the entrance and the hotel parking is guarded by several security officers day and night. A strange town.

ReplyDeleteFor just over a year I've live in Pennsylvania about a 20 min drive from Trenton New Jersey. I've walked around Trenton only twice but I don't think it looks very safe. Now the only reason I go there is to catch a train to New York City. Philadelphia is also close by and I like it much better.
