Great lunch experience in Restaurant Le Manoir, Mont Saint-Michel

We started driving early morning from Paris and were looking for a restaurant to have lunch just before arriving at Mont Saint-Michel. We found Le Manoir, a small restaurant on the way. They served a three course set menu for 18 euro. It was very good quality.

I tried one of the best mussels in curry ever. Kristel had a salmon salad and a pasta. As a starter I took the house made regional pâté. We were together with our parents and they also enjoyed it.

We begonnen onze rit van Parijs vroeg in de ochtend en zochten een plaats om iets te eten vlak voor de aankomst in Mont Saint-Michel. We vonden Le Manoir, een klein restaurant onder weg. Men serveerde er een drie gangen keuze menu voor 18 euro. Het was van heel goede kwaliteit. 

Ik kreeg één van de beste mosseltjes in curry ooit. Kristel nam een slaatje met zalm en een pasta. Als voorgerecht nam ik een huisgemaakte streek pâté. We waren hier samen met onze ouders en genoten allemaal er van.

Mont Saint-Michel polders and views, Normandy

The Mont Saint-Michel is one of the top landmarks of France which you have to visit. It is a city located in the province of Normandy. At high tide, the city of Mont Saint-Michel gets disconnected from the main land and temporary becomes an island. Nowadays, it is possible to reach it via a bridge accessible for pedestrians.

The views of the Mont Saint-Michel are amazing. In the polders you see sheep, horses, cattle and hikers. Hiking via the beach is only allowed with guided tours because of drift sand. The tide sometimes gain territory quickly and it could be dangerous. Be careful and join an expert when you hike via the beaches. Via the bridge is no problem at all.

De Mont Saint-Michel is één van de top attracties van Frankrijk die je zeker moet bezoeken. Het is een stadje in Normandië. Bij vloed wordt de stad omringd door water, een tijdelijk eiland, afgesloten van het vaste land. Tegenwoordig is het wel mogelijk de overtocht te maken via een grote voetgangersbrug. 

De zichten van de Mont Saint-Michel en omgeving zijn ongelooflijk. In de polders zie je schapen, paarden, vee en wandelaars. De wandeling via het strand is enkel toegelaten onder begeleiding van een gids omwille van drijfzand. De getijden kunnen heel snel oprukken en grote stukken strand innemen, wat gevaarlijk kan worden. Wees voorzichtig en blijf bij een expert gids als je de wandeling maakt via het strand. Via de brug is totaal geen probleem.

Trying to have a drink in the Vienna Palmenhaus

Unfortunately the Palmenhaus built in the late 19th century was completely full when we visited the green house. It contains a brasserie and coffee bar but we didn’t get a table. The green house is fabulous and is now an established bar and restaurant. On the other side you find a butterfly garden. A nice place to visit when you are in Vienna.

Toen wij het Palmenhaus in Wenen bezochten was er spijtig genoeg geen tafeltje beschikbaar voor ons in het glazen huis. Het bevat een koffiebar en restaurant. Het ziet er gewoon fantastisch uit en het restaurant is goed gekend. Aan de andere kant van het gebouw vind je een vlindertuin. Een leuke plaats voor een bezoekje als je in Wenen bent.
