Frigate Bay Beach and spectacular views on Friars Bay, St. Kitts

We are on our way to the beach of Frigate Bay and drive through the mountains. We pass the Royal St. Kitts Golf Course and see lots of luxury mansions in the hills. Looking down at the north side of the island, we see Kite surfers flying over the waves. At the place where we stand between the rocks, you see North Friars Bay on our left side, this is the Atlantic Ocean with strong winds and waves. On our right side you see the calm Caribbean Sea.

We arrive at Frigate Bay Beach, this is also at the south side of the island. No problems, the sea is calm and people are looking for shells. After a beach walk, we decide to go back to the capital of St. Kitts. The drive to Basseterre is about 15 minutes and we can’t wait to explore the city.

We zijn op weg naar het Frigate Bay strand en rijden door de bergen. De heuvels zijn bezaaid met luxe villa’s en in de vallei ligt de Koninglijke St. Kitts Golf club. Als we naar beneden kijken aan de noord kant van het eiland, zien we Kite surfers over de golven vliegen. Op de plaatst waar we tussen de rotsen staan, zien we aan onze linker kant, Noord Friars Bay, dit is de Atlantische Oceaan met zijn sterke wind en golven. Aan de rechter zijde zien we de kalme Caraïbische Zee. 

Het strand van Frigate Bay ligt ook aan de zuid kant van het eiland. Geen probleem, de zee is kalm en sommige mensen zoeken naar schelpen. Na een strandwandeling beslissen we terug te gaan naar de hoofdstad Basseterre. De rit duurt ongeveer 15 minuten en met ongeduld kijken we er naar uit om de stad te ontdekken..
