Oberammergau looks like an open air museum with paintings. Don’t misunderstand me, it is a charming little mountain village. Most houses have a wooden roof and the walls are decorated with paintings telling stories of every day life: a farmer sowing his land, family life, a court council, religious stories, wood carving, animals, parties, horseback riding and a farmer’s orchestra.

ReplyDeleteI wish you have a nice week.
Greetings.

It is a lovely town, the paintings are extraordinary too. It reminds me slightly of a town in Michigan, Frankenmuth, that we used to visit a lot. Their style was very Bavarian like, my mother always said, but their buildings looked much like this.
ReplyDeleteIt is a quaint custom and similar to some Swiss villages.
ReplyDeleteheel origineel, en gezellig
ReplyDeleteI see a Cultured Society so different from ours ! There is a big difference between 1st, 2nd world and the 3rd world countries, indeed ! Too bad I have been living in a 3rd world country. In my part of the world, Murals painted on the wall are usually vandalized in a short time, streets are with rubbish everywhere except those foreigner tourist destinations !
ReplyDeletenice picture sharing, i never been to there before..
ReplyDeleteThose buildings do look really lovey and certainly different for me to see.
ReplyDeleteTres pitoresque! Bonne journee :)
ReplyDeleteOberammergau..... I think I have problem pronouncing that :p
ReplyDeleteAnyway, it sure is a beautiful place.
Hi Filip,
ReplyDeleteI love the outdoor cafe concept, I do wish my country here is suitable place for such concept when the weather allowed.
