This church is located on the Tibidabo Mountain in the outskirts of Barcelona. In de foreground, you see a small historic carnival fair. The church has two levels with beautiful ceilings and paintings. On top of the highest tower, Jesus is looking down over Barcelona.
The ground level has a circular construction and is rather small. Going to the second elevation level, you find an enormous church. The day we were at Tibidabo, there was a procession to celebrate the jubilee of mercy. It was very crowded.

These are outstanding pictures! Picture six is truly art, and my favorite. Although they are all just wonderful! Jesus looking over a carnival!! Now to your first picture. The contrast between the gorgeous old church and the colorful modern carnival is truly amazing. I used to think carnivals were pretty till seeing this. Modern man made cannot touch the work or the house of God.
ReplyDeletewow what a great church I would like to visit it. Love from Poland
ReplyDeleteThe stained glass windows are all beautiful. Even though it was crowded you managed to avoid or carefully crop out the people to give a sense of peace.
ReplyDeleteSuch a lovely place, thanks for sharing it with us.
ReplyDeleteThat must be some rich organ sound!
ReplyDeleteThe interior is very beautiful. The stained glass is lovely. I like your archetectural shots, Filip.
ReplyDeleteMarvelous photos of this wonderful church and place.
ReplyDeleteBest, Synnöve
