Strolling through the alleys of fortress city Mdina

In this article we try to give you some impressions of the fortress city of Mdina. This medieval town is completely surrounded by a tick defence wall. It must be one of the most preserved of its kind. It is comparable to the city of Dubrovnik but here, Mdina is located on a hill which make it even more impressive.

There is only one entrance to the city. Almost all streets are narrow but you can't get lost. The town is too small for that. We find it a pity that there are still cars allowed within the walls. They should consider limiting this to only a few hours early morning or late evening. Mdina has many churches and historical buildings but above all, the views of the area are amazing. Having a drink on one of the terraces looking towards Mosta is just fantastic.
