Impressions of the Kaleiçi Mosque in Kusadasi

This is our last holiday article of Kusadasi. From the ship, you see the minaret of the Kaleiçi mosque built in 1618. It is open for tourists but during prayer times only for Muslims. In the street you see decorated water sources for people to wash their hands and arms before praying. Unfortunately I could not enter the Mosque because I wore shorts. I will make sure this is not the case in the Emirates and Oman on one of our next trips.

Dit is ons laatste artikel van Kusadasi. Van op het schip, zie je de minaret van de Kaleiçi moskee die werd gebouwd in 1618. Deze is toegankelijk voor toeristen maar niet gedurende de gebedsuren wanneer enkel Moslims binnen mogen. Op straat zie je verschillende versierde waterbronnen voor het wassen van de handen en armen voor de start van het bidden. Spijtig dat we de moskee niet binnen konden daar we een short droegen. Dat zal niet meer gebeuren op onze trip naar de Emiraten en Oman..
