Near the Houses of Parliament and the ministries you find the famous "Ale & Pie, Red Lion Pub". It is always busy. During working days it is the place to be for civil servants and white color workers of the nearby offices. When there are a few chairs available in the weekend they get occupied by tourists. The pub is a blooming business.
On the first floor is a room where they serve lunch and diner. A few years ago, I came here with some colleagues. I remembered the pub and had to invite Kristel's parents for a beer. The wooden bar is fascinating and like always the pub was full even though it was early afternoon. You see Kristel and Greta at the bar with a London Pride beer. Probably the same spot where Winston Churchill was drinking his beer. Yes, the Red Lion Pub is already a long time in business, since 1435. Cheers.
In de buurt van het parlement en de ministeries vind je de beroemde "Ale & Pie, Red Lion Pub". Het is er altijd druk. Op werkdagen is dit het stamcafé van de ambtenaren en zakenmensen uit nabij gelegen kantoren. Als er een beetje plaats is in het weekend worden dit ingenomen door toeristen. De pub is een bloeiende zaak.
Op het eerste verdiep serveert men lunch en avondeten. Enkele jaren geleden was ik hier met collega's. Ik herinnerde mij deze pub en wou Kristel haar ouders uitnodigen voor een biertje. De houten bar is fascinerend en zoals altijd was het er druk, zelfs in de vroege namiddag. Kristel en Greta staan aan de toog te pronken met een London Pride biertje. Waarschijnlijk op dezelfde plaats waar Winston Churchill zijn bier dronk. Ja, de Red Lion Pub bestaat reeds lang, sinds 1435. Proost.
