The Qorinchanka Monastery of Cusco with its beautiful rose garden is worth a visit. The Spanish invaders destroyed the Inca palace situated on this location and built the convent on its ruins. A sad truth of the intolerance towards other religions of the Spanish Inquisition.
To restore a part of the original Peruvian and Inca heritage, parts of the ancient Inca temples which were hidden behind the walls of the monastery, have been exposed again. The perfection of the polished carved stones and the smooth surface of the walls are amazing.
Next to paintings, vases and other pieces of art, visitors can enjoy the beautiful rose gardens. This provides me a good opportunity to take a picture of Kristel sitting on a garden wall. I decided to have a walk on one of the lower terraces.
