The Zoology Museum is located in a castle built for the World Exposition of 1888, it is also called the castle of the three dragons. Just below the roof, you see white shinny tiles decorated with blue prints. It reminds me a bit of Delfs Blue.
In the park you find many statues and a giant replica of a mammoth. In the south of the park you find the Zoo of Barcelona. General Prim on his horse is guarding the entrance. This must be an ideal park to relax and find shelter from the burning sun during the hot summer periods.
In de vroege ochtend wandelen we het Ciutadella park aan de ingang van het Zoölogisch museum binnen. Tot onze verrassing zien we verschillende clochards slapen in de hoge serre. De financiële crisis in Spanje heeft dus ook al Barcelona bereikt, alhoewel dit niet zichtbaar is in andere delen van de stad.
Het Zoölogisch museum wordt uitgebaat in een kasteel gebouw voor de Wereldtentoonstelling van 1888, het heeft de bijnaam het kasteel van de drie draken. Juist onder de dakrand hangen blinkend witte tegels versierd met een blauwe tekening. Het doet me een beetje aan Delfs Blauw denken.
In het park zelf vind je vele standbeelden en een levensgrote replica van een mammoet. Aan de zuidkant ligt de zoo van Barcelona. Generaal Prim te paard bewaakt er de toegang. Dit moet toch wel een ideale plaats zijn om te ontspannen en te schuilen voor de brandende zon gedurende hete zomermaanden..
