Relaxing on Morne Rouge Bay, Grenada

Grenada is one of the poorest Caribbean Islands and when we are there, we try to support locals by using their services. This time we took a taxi to explore the island and went to Morne Rouge Bay. This small beach is accessible via a wooden pub. A nice place to have a drink and eat a snack.

We went for a walk and some swimming. The weather was ideal to relax and enjoy the water. It makes me think about summer again. Still a while to go since the winter just started in Europe.

Grenada is één van de armste Caribische eilanden en als we daar zijn, trachten we altijd wat geld te spenderen bij de lokale bevolking. Deze keer namen we een taxi om het eiland te verkennen en gingen we naar het prachtige Morne Rouge Bay. Dit kleine strand is bereikbaar via een houten pub. Een leuke plaats om iets te drinken en een snack. 

Na onze wandeling genoten we van het zwemmen. De weersomstandigheden waren ideaal in het water. Het doet me terug naar de zomer verlangen. Het zal nog wel even duren want de winter is net begonnen in Europa.

Swimming at Dickenson Bay, Antigua

Antigua has fantastic beaches and Dickenson Bay is one of them. Most beaches are deserted and have no or few facilities. At Dickenson Bay, you find many restaurants and hotels. The view of the wooden pier is very nice. It takes about 15 minutes to drive from the port to this beach.

In the sea, they anchored some large floating platforms. Not afraid of distance swimming we go for it. I am taking the lead and await the arrival of Kristel, taking pictures with our water camera. We are very pleased with the selfies taken on the beach and on the floating platforms. It was great to swim from one platform to the other.

Antigua heeft prachtige stranden en Dickenson Bay is er één van. De meeste stranden zijn afgelegen zonder enige faciliteiten. Dickenson Bay wordt echter commercieel uitgebaat en hier vind je vele restaurants en hotels. Het zicht op de houten pier is heel mooi. De taxirit van de haven naar dit strand neemt ongeveer 15 minuten in beslag. 

Op zee heeft men grote drijvende banden vast geankerd. Zonder vrees grote afstanden te zwemmen beginnen we aan ons avontuur. Ik zwem voorop en neem enkele foto's van Kristel met onze waterproof camera. We zijn blij met onze selfies op het strand en de drijvende platformen. Het gaf ons een ongelooflijk gevoel om van het ene platform naar het andere toe te zwemmen.

Caldea wellness or swimming in a space ship, Andorra

The Caldea wellness building is by far the most impressive construction of Andorra La Vella. Its glass pyramid tower and modern style blows you away. Before entering the swimming pool, you get a first glance at the futuristic decor via shinny staircases with mirrors and steel elements.

We have to admit it is not cheap to enter but the swimming pool with thermal source water makes up for it. The swimming pool almost looks like a space ship. Everything seems out of metal, Jacuzzi’s are elevated in the air like flying saucers. Regularly fountains start to spray water. They move on music and are accompanied by colored lasers. Next to the swimming pool you can also enjoy warm water springs in the Roman baths, outdoor swimming, a steam room and sauna.

Het Caldea kuuroord is met grote voorsprong het meest indrukwekkende gebouw van Andorra La Vella. Zijn glazen piramidetoren en moderne stijl zijn gewoon verbluffend. Vooraleer het zwembad binnen te gaan, krijg je een eerste glimp te zien van het futuristische decor met blinkende trappen bestaande uit glas, staal en spiegels. 

Toegegeven dat de inkom niet goedkoop is maar het verwarmd zwembad met bronwater maakt het helemaal weer goed. Het zwembad lijkt wel een ruimteschip. Alles lijkt van metaal, de jacuzzi's zijn op elkaar gelift, net vliegende schotels. Regelmatig spuiten fonteinen water, ze bewegen op het ritme van muziek en worden begeleid door gekleurde lasers. Naast het zwembad kan je ook genieten van warm water bronnen in de Romeinse baden, buitenzwembaden, een stoombad en sauna.

Nice swimming pool in Le Meridien, St. Julians, Malta

Le Meridien is a very good hotel for its location and the spa center. It is located in the heart of St. Julians a lively town in Malta. The Spa Center has several Jacuzzi’s and a very nice heated swimming pool. It is a good environment to relax.

The hotel is modern with spacious rooms, great views on the port and the lobby contains an art collection. It is easy to park your car in front of the hotel and the concierge takes care of everything. A very good service. Don’t doubt when you hand-over your keys. Off season this hotel was excellent price value, a top recommendation.

Le Meridien is een heel goed hotel omwille van zijn locatie en het spa centrum. Het is gelegen in het hart van St. Julians een levendig stadje in Malta. Het spa centrum heeft verschillende Jacuzzi’s en een leuk verwarmd zwembad. Het is een uitstekende omgeving om te ontspannen. 

Het hotel is modern met ruime kamers, mooie zichten op de haven en de inkomhal toont hedendaagse kunst. Het is eenvoudig je auto hier te parkeren, geef gewoon je sleutels aan de conciërge en hij neemt het van je over. Een heel goede service. Twijfel niet. Buiten het seizoen werd dit hotel aan een heel goede prijs aangeboden, een top aanbeveling.
