Augustinian monastery, a new destination and the chapel

This monastery in Leuven next to the Roman Gate is getting a new destination. The original monastery dates from the 12th century and this is now a place for cultural events, it has a cafeteria, and the Martin group builds a high class hotel within its walls. The chapel was empty and there was an exhibition. You still see the organ, the majestic doors, the altar, statues and decorations. We hope the chapel will remain like this and keep this last bit of its richness.

Dit Augustinessenklooster in Leuven is gelegen naast de Romaanse Poort en krijgt een nieuwe bestemming. Het originele klooster dateert uit de 12de eeuw en is nu een plaats voor cultuur evenementen, het heeft een cafetaria, en de Martin groep bouwt een klasse hotel binnen de kloostermuren. De kapel was leeg voor een tentoonstelling. Je kan nog steeds het orgel, de grootse deuren, het altaar, beelden en decoraties zien. We hopen dat de kapel zo zal blijven en het laatste deel van zijn rijkdom kan behouden..
