Teatre del Liceu on the Rambla, Barcelona

This fabulous building dates from the mid 19th century and is mainly used for concerts and opera. From the middle of the Rambla you can try to take a picture of the façade but trees are blocking the full view.

When it is not possible for you to get tickets for a performance, we would still recommend to visit the theater during a day tour. It is not expensive and really worth a visit, the ceilings and balconies are amazing.

Dit fantastische gebouw dateert uit het midden van de 19de eeuw en wordt voornamelijk gebruikt voor concerten en opera. Van op het midden van de Rambla kan je proberen een foto te nemen van de gevel maar bomen blokkeren het volledige zicht. 

Als je geen kaartjes kan kopen voor een voorstelling, zouden we nog steeds aanbevelen het theater te bezoeken gedurende de dag. Het is niet duur en echt een bezoek waard, de plafonds en balkons zijn ongelooflijk.

Architecture, art and entertainment on walking promenade La Rambla, Barcelona

La Rambla, one of the most famous streets of Barcelona. It’s here you find the entertainment, you can buy a drawing of your face, a painting made by a street artist, look at football jugglers or living statues. The middle of the several km long street is a walking promenade with on both sides traffic. La Rambla is known for its crowds, bars and shopping.

We also had a look at the architecture ranging from Asian style with a dragon, umbrellas and fans, to beautiful art facades and ground murals. It is not difficult to understand that this is one of the most popular streets of Barcelona.

La Rambla is één van de meest beroemde straten van Barcelona. Hier vind je entertainment, je kan er een tekening van jezelf laten maken, een schilderij kopen van een straatartiest, kijken naar voetbal jugglers of levende standbeelden. In het midden van de weg is een kilometer lange wandelpromenade maar aan beide zijden is er nog verkeer. La Rambla staat gekend als een drukke straat met winkelmogelijkheden en bars. 

We keken ook naar de architectuur die varieerde van Aziatische stijl met een draak, parasols en waaiers, tot mooie gevels en grondmozaïeken. Het is niet moeilijk te begrijpen dat La Rambla één van de meest populaire straten van Barcelona is.
