Isn't this the ultimate dream of boys? Owning or driving a race car. I have to admit the thought crossed my mind a few times but we have other priorities in live. Being in Stuttgart, provides me a great opportunity to have a closer look at the top German brand Porsche while my wife goes shopping. Porsche has his main production site and headquarters in this city.
In the suburb Zufenhausen, the S-bahn stops directly in front of the futuristic building of the Porsche museum. The gigantic showroom, covering several floors contains 80 dream cars from the early models to concept cars. Some of the classic cars seem very primitive but have a lot of horsepower. The new models like the Carrera GT are a combination of extreme power and ultimate luxury.
For private owners Porsche is all about fun and performance but they are also used as a police car. About a decade ago we saw this frequently, Porsche police cars stopping speeding drivers on the highway. With the current economic situation, the police drives mid range cars. The museum also contains many professional racing cars like Formula One and Le Mans vehicles. My favourite in this segment was the Porsche 917 model.
Would we recommend you to visit this museum? Yes, if you a car lover, go for it. It is well worth it and good value for money. The entry fee was 8 euro.
Is het bezitten of het rijden in een sportwagen, niet de droom van elke jonge man? Ook ik moet toegeven dat deze gedachte in mijn hoofd heeft gespeeld heb maar we hebben andere prioriteiten in het leven. Bij ons bezoek aan Stuttgart kreeg ik de mogelijkheid om het merk Porsche van dichtbij te bekijken terwijl mijn vrouw aan het winkelen was. Porsche heeft zijn hoofdkantoor en een belangrijke productielijn hier in de stad.
In de deelgemeente Zufenhausen, stopt de metro recht tegenover het futuristische gebouw van het Porsche museum. De enorme showroom bestaande uit verschillende verdiepingen bevat 80 droomauto's van het prille begin van het merk tot de laatste conceptwagens. Sommige oldtimers zien er heel primitief uit maar zijn toch krachtig. De nieuwste modellen zoals de Carrera GT zijn een combinatie van extreme kracht en ultieme luxe.
Voor individuele Porsche bezitters gaat het allemaal over rijplezier en prestaties. Deze auto's worden echter ook gebruikt door de politie. Een tiental jaren geleden zag je regelmatig de Porsche 911 van de politie, snelheidsduivels aanhouden op de snelweg. Vanwege de minder goede economie zijn deze tijden voorbij en rijdt de politie met midden klasse wagens. Het museum heeft ook professionele racewagens uit de Formule 1 en Le Mans. Mijn favoriete model uit deze serie is de Porsche 917.
Zouden wij een bezoek aan het Porsche Museum aanbevelen? Als je een autoliefhebber bent, ja. Ga ervoor! Het is zeker een bezoekje waard en de toegangsprijs van 8 euro is niet duur..
