Choco-Story or the Belgium chocolate museum in Brugge

When we travel and tell people we are from Belgium, many of them relate it to chocolate. That is why we decided to end our Brugge series with an article about Belgium chocolate. The Choco-Story museum opened its doors in 2004 and is very popular. We were surprise it was so crowded. It is located in a large house and on each floor you have a presentation of the history of chocolate. From cacao beans to chocolate bars, a movie and a real chocolate production unit. We liked the chocolate boxes, trays, porcelain, pralines, the shapes to make chocolate figures, and pieces of art in chocolate. There was also a painting of the chocolate fairy. We end the article with chocolate boxes of the Belgium Royal Family: King Albert and Queen Paola, crown prince Philip and princess Mathilde with their children.

  5. I spent a week-end in Bruges but that was before 2004 or I would have certainly gone to the chocolate museum. I am not surprised that it is crowded. The china boxes are very beautiful and the photo of the royal family is lovely.

  9. Bruges and chocolate ... a clever marketing campaign! It is now more famous for its chocolate than it is for its lace. I should visit that museum when I'm in Bruges, it looks interesting!

Groetjes Dietmjut
