Pure and fresh Italian food at the Bracciano Lake

We are happy to write our 100th article of Italy about a typical village at a lake. You see the market place, some houses, a church and its tower. Next to the restaurant at the lake lays a fishers net. The fish, shrimps and spaghetti is fabulous. Pure fresh products, the Italian kitchen at its best. On the water you see swans and there is a sailing competition.

We zijn blij ons 100ste Italiaans artikel te schrijven over een vissersdorp aan een meer. Je ziet de marktplaats, enkele huizen, een kerk en zijn kloktoren. Naast het strandrestaurant ligt een vissersnet. De vis, garnalen en spaghetti is ongelooflijk. Pure verse producten, de Italiaanse keuken op zijn best. Op het water zie je zwanen en is er een zeilcompetitie.

The small village and lake of Lecco, Italy

It was hard to find a parking place in Lecco but we managed to get rid of our rented car outside the village. We had to walk a few kilometers alongside the lake. This was refreshing, the wind and water provided a cool breeze.

In the village, kids were feeding swans on the edge of the lake. The water is crystal clear but very cold. We enjoyed the views and the mountains and decided to have lunch on a nice elevated terrace on a hill, overlooking the lake.

Het was niet eenvoudig een parkeerplaats voor onze auto in Lecco te vinden maar we geraakten hem kwijt iets buiten het dorp. We dienen echter wel enkele kilometers terug te wandelen langs het meer. De combinatie van zon, wind en water was echt verfrissend. 

In het dorp waren er enkele kinderen, zwanen aan de rand van het meer, te voederen. Het water is kristalhelder en koud. We genoten van de bergzichten en besloten te lunchen op één van de hoger gelegen terrassen met zicht op het meer.

The Como Lake provides visitors an authentic Italian feeling with a touch of modern art. The lake surrounded by mountains is a wonder of nature. On the water, people may rent old bumper boats. Many have a fun boat docked on this lake, a very popular holiday destination.

In the middle of the lake, they built a wooden walking promenade which end at the enormous and shiny art of Piero Caldirola. Thumbs up, Kristel is enjoying the weather and views.

Het Comomeer biedt bezoekers een authentiek Italiaans gevoel aan met een moderne toets. Het meer omringt door bergen is een wonder der natuur. Op het water kunnen mensen antieke bots bootjes huren. Velen hebben hier een plezierbootje aangelegd want Como is een heel populaire toeristenbestemming. 

In het midden van het meer werd een houten wandel ponton aangelegd dat eindigt aan een enorm groot blinkend kunstwerk van Piero Caldirola. Duimen omhoog, Kristel geniet van het mooie weer en de zichten.

Spectacular paragliding from the Wallberg to Tegernsee

No, we didn't do this ourselves. Arriving at the top of the Wallberg, we saw several people with paragliding gear. A bit further, was the departing area. Everyone was putting on their warm clothing and more important a glider.

It is hard to imagine how many ropes are connected to the sail. Probably very difficult to keep it organised. When ready, they start running from the mountain slope. Making speed and catching the air stream to lift. Here they go on an adventure with fantastic views on the Tegernsee lake.

Nee, we deden dit niet zelf. Toen we op de bergtop aankwamen zagen we enkele mensen met hun paragliden uitrusting. Iets verder, was het lanceergebied. Iedereen trok zijn warme kledij aan en nog belangrijker hun paraglider. 

Het is moeilijk voor te stellen hoeveel touwen er verbonden zijn met het zeil. Waarschijnlijk heel zwaar om dit onder controle te houden. Eens klaar, beginnen ze de berg af te lopen. Snelheid nemen en de luchtstroom om op te stijgen. Ze beginnen aan een avontuur met fantastische zichten op het Tegernsee meer.
