Finding a parking place for the car in front of the church was impossible so we had to walk a few hundred metres. Afraid to leave our suitcases behind in the car, we took them with us. When the locals saw us at the church entrance with our luggage, they probably wondered, are these refugees?
The church was however closed for renovations. So much effort and we could not enter. We have to be glad to visit the exterior of the church because this was also beautiful.
Op onze laatste Malta dag reden we naar de luchthaven voorbij het kleine dorp Luca. De dorpskerk met zijn gekleurde koepel trok onze aandacht. Laten we maar eens gaan kijken vooraleer onze vlucht te nemen.
Een parkeerplaats vinden bij de parochiekerk was onmogelijk dus moesten we enkele honderden meters wandelen. Daar we schrik hadden bestolen te worden, namen we onze valiezen maar mee. Een paar inwoners keken ons na toen we aan de kerkingang stonden met onze bagage. Zijn dit vluchtelingen?
De kerk was echter gesloten wegens renovaties. Zoveel moeite gedaan en we konden niet naar binnen. We moeten echter blij zijn de buitenzijde gezien te hebben, dit was ook prachtig.
