We like special hotels and the Apollo Hotel in Almere has a unique modern design. It is built on poles and the restaurants area looks like an egg. That’s our interpretation from the exterior. The modern touch is also present in the restaurant lights and in the rooms. The wall behind your bed is a giant painting of a woman’s face wearing red lipstick. On the flat screen you are able to watch TV but PC services are also possible. Let’s review the make-up before we go to the dance hall.
We houden wel van bijzondere hotels en het Apollo Hotel in Almere heeft een uniek modern ontwerp. Het is gebouwd op palen en het restaurant gedeelte lijkt wel een ei. Dat is dan onze interpretatie van de buitenzijde. De moderne toets is ook terug te vinden in de lichten van het restaurant en de kamers. De muur achter je bed is een enorm schilderij van een vrouwengezicht met rode lippenstift. Het platte scherm in de houten muur dient niet enkel als televisie maar ook als computer. Laat ons de make-up maar eens bijwerken vooraleer we naar de danshal gaan..
This weekend we supported our team Love2Move Team during the Dutch Championships (NK 2013) Ballroom Dancing. After months of preparation the team won 5 titles. In the Senior I Championship class, Marco Melani and Agnes Melani-van den Hurk took this important title and will represent The Netherlands on World and European Championships. We added a few pictures of team members and of the Love2Move group.
Dit weekend hebben we het Love2Move team gaan aanmoedigen tijdens de Nederlandse Kampioenschappen Ballroom Dancing. Na maanden voorbereiding won het team 5 titels. In de Senioren I klasse wonnen, Marco Melani and Agnes Melani-van den Hurk, deze enorm belangrijke titel. Zij zullen Nederland vertegenwoordigen op Wereld- en Europese kampioenschappen. We hebben tevens enkele foto’s van leden en het Love2Move team bijgevoegd.
It was a fantastic dance weekend in Almere. The Dutch Championships Ballroom for Seniors and Adults was top sports, entertainment and pure emotion. Yesterday, they completed the Senior classes we a new Senior I Champion from the Love2Move Team, Marco Melani and Agnes Melani-van den Hurk. Congratulations. Today the Adults were in action. Also here a new Dutch Champion, Wesley van Riel and Wies van Haaren. The Final of the Championship Class was Amazing with solo dances in the Waltz and Tango. Every one can be very proud for the fantastic performance. Also here a few pictures of the price presentation of the Championship, A and C, class.

We are loyal customers of the Hotel Van der Valk restaurants. We have already been in Oostkamp, Nazaret, Bijhorst, Nootdorp, Vianen, Assen, Arhnem, Maastricht, and now also in Almere. We like the style of the restaurants and the food has a good price quality balance. This time we didn’t only go for the restaurant but also booked a hotel room. We were for two days in Almere and the room was very spacious, modern, good airco and a plasma flat screen TV. The bathroom had a double bath and a walk in rain shower. Breakfast was top. When we went to the restroom behind the lobby, we saw Angelina Jolie printed on the entrance door for the ladies, who do you think was displayed on the other door? It was a good experience.
We zijn trouwe klanten bij de Hotel van der Valk restaurants. We zijn reeds gaan eten in Van der Valk Oostkamp, Bijhorst, Nootdorp, Vianen, Assen, Arhnem, Maastricht, en nu ook in Almere. We houden van de stijl van de restaurants, het eten is van een goede prijs kwaliteitsverhouding. Deze keer gingen we niet enkel naar het restaurant maar boekten we ook een hotelkamer. We waren voor twee dagen in Almere en de kamer was zeer ruim, modern, goede airconditioning, en een plasma televisie. De badkamer had een dubbel bad en een inloop douche met regenkop. Het ontbijt was uitstekend. Toen we naar het toilet gingen achter de lobby, zagen we Angelina Jolie geprint op de deur van de dames, raad eens wie er op de andere deur stond? Het was een goede ervaring..

Again it was top today at the Dutch Championships Standard in Almere. After the seniors, it was time for the main challenge of the year for the adults. Many couples participated and our team members of Love2Move did a great job. Thomas Doodkorte and Kelly Basoski reached the Final of the B-class and became 6th. Dennis van Veluw and Esmeé van Doorn became 3rd in the A-class out of 22 couples. Also praiseworthy was the performance of Theo and Claudia van den Brink who became 3rd in the C-class out of 31 couples. They promoted to the B-class, so we dance together the next competition.
The highlight of the evening was the Final of the Championship class. It was just amazing, the 6 finalist danced really well and this is top sport at the highest level. The reining champion Marcello Nencini and Tessa de Jongh prolonged their title of Dutch Champion. They were the favourites and took the title for a second time. Everyone expected this and it was also clear for the adjudicators. Places 2 till 6 where not so decisive, all five couples performed to so well and showed excellent quality dancing. A very emotional Ciccio Pecoraro and Jasmijn van Jole claimed the 2nd place. Extreme happiness and something you can be proud of. Congratulations to all couples for such a great final.
Het was terug een top dag op het Nederlands Kampioenschap Standaard dansen te Almere. Na de Senioren was het deze keer de beurt aan de adults voor de grootste uitdaging van het jaar. Het aantal deelnemers was zeer hoog en onze teamgenoten van Love2Move hebben het uitstekend gedaan. Thomas Doodkorte en Kelly Basoski bereikten de finale van de B-Klasse en werden 6de. Dennis van Veluw en Esmeé van Doorn werden 3de van 22 paren in de A-klasse. Ook lovenswaardig was de prestatie van Theo en Claudia van den Brink die 3de werden van 31 paren in de C-klasse. Ze promoveerden naar de B-klasse en we dansen volgende competitie dus samen.
Het hoogtepunt van de avond was de Finale van de Hoofdklasse. Het was gewoon betoverend, alle 6 de finalisten dansten fantastisch en dit was top sport van de hoogste kwaliteit. De regerende kampioen Marcello Nencini en Tessa de Jongh verlengden hun titel van Nederlands Kampioen. Ze waren de favorieten en wonnen de titel voor de 2de keer op rij. Iedereen had dit verwacht en het was ook duidelijk voor de jury. De plaatsen 2 tot 6 waren niet zo gemakkelijk te verdelen, alle paren dansten zeer goed en brachten top kwaliteit. Een zeer geëmotioneerde Ciccio Pecoraro en Jasmijn van Jole overtroffen zichzelf en werden 2de. Extreem geluk en blijdschap. Iets waar ze absoluut trots kunnen op zijn. Hartelijk gefeliciteerd aan alle paren voor zo’n fantastische finale.

The Dutch Championships Ballroom dancing seniors were held in Almere today. The organisation was great and so was the dancing. We were there to support the Love2Move team and in the next days we will publish some videos from the team seniors and adults.
