Relaxing on Morne Rouge Bay, Grenada

Grenada is one of the poorest Caribbean Islands and when we are there, we try to support locals by using their services. This time we took a taxi to explore the island and went to Morne Rouge Bay. This small beach is accessible via a wooden pub. A nice place to have a drink and eat a snack.

We went for a walk and some swimming. The weather was ideal to relax and enjoy the water. It makes me think about summer again. Still a while to go since the winter just started in Europe.

Grenada is één van de armste Caribische eilanden en als we daar zijn, trachten we altijd wat geld te spenderen bij de lokale bevolking. Deze keer namen we een taxi om het eiland te verkennen en gingen we naar het prachtige Morne Rouge Bay. Dit kleine strand is bereikbaar via een houten pub. Een leuke plaats om iets te drinken en een snack. 

Na onze wandeling genoten we van het zwemmen. De weersomstandigheden waren ideaal in het water. Het doet me terug naar de zomer verlangen. Het zal nog wel even duren want de winter is net begonnen in Europa.

Happy New Year - all the best for 2017

Fresh products at Mercado Central, Alicante

Each time when we are in a major Spanish city, we are impressed with the fresh markets. In Alicante the modernist building looks nice but the fresh products are amazing. If we would live here, we would buy a lot of fish and meat at this market. We just love the Spanish meat products like ham.

Iedere keer als we in een grote Spaanse stad zijn, worden we verbluft door de versmarkten. In Alicante is dit in een modernist gebouw maar de producten zijn nog mooier. Als we hier zouden wonen, kochten we waarschijnlijk al ons vlees en vis op deze markt. We houden gewoon van de Spaanse ham.
