St. Benedikt church in Munich, a modern touch

As a semi active blog writer, I always keep my eyes open for interesting buildings or places to take a picture and write a short article about. Early morning, on my way from the hotel to work, I see a church in a side street half covered in the sun. Since I write frequently about churches I took this opportunity to have a quick look. The St. Benedikt church was constructed in 1881 by Mr. Marggraf. The church facade looks modern because it was reconstructed in 1951, 7 years after the bombing during the Second World War. When you enter the church you see a modern painting on the left side of the altar. I don't know the artist but it I certainly liked it. It could be in honour of the Priest Rupert Mayer, who was a leading member of the German resistance during the Second World War. A small but nice church.

  3. It is so nice but it looks very odd to see that painting on the wall or maybe I just don't know what was the reason why it is placed on the wall.
