Singing on the Twin Peaks Trail and Eklutna Lake views

The trail starts at Eklutna Lake where people were kayaking. It was raining a little bit but we started our hike through the woods and steep hill. The distance is about 4,5km uphill and the same coming back.

We started hiking around 15:00 and in the first hour we encountered several people returning from the top. They informed us about the beautiful views and we decided to complete the hike.

The next hours we didn't see any other people and we became more and more worried about the wildlife. Many bears have been spotted on this trail and we should not surprise one. Not having any bear bells or spray, we continued signing along the trail. No way could a bear be confronted with us by surprise.

Zonder beerbellen of spray, gaan we zingend verder.

  2. Wow - I love the photos of your hike. I see the fireweed was blooming. I never carry bear bells or spray - actually, I don't sing either! I hate the clanging of the bells, and I'd be afraid of spraying my self instead of the bear. Of course, you may have been in grizzly country, and then I'd be far more cautious. Ours are black bear and none I've encountered so far did me harm.

  4. Bears would be a worry for me too. Singing sounds like a great strategy. ;-)

  9. The views are amazing and I'm glad you were not eaten by a bear. I'm guessing your singing isn't as good as your dancing.

  10. adembenemend
