On Plaza Mayo you find the most important catholic cathedral of Buenos Aires. From the exterior the church looks like an ancient Greek temple. The cathedral is enormous and in one of the large chapels you find the mausoleum of General José de San Martin, together with Simon Bolivar, he was one of the most important freedom fighters of South America.
From the interior of the cathedral we particularly liked the yellow golden ceiling and puppets of Our Lady. We were so surprised that tens of people were queuing to talk to two priests. Believers approached them and were embraced, hugged, touch on the head and other places on their body. People were on their knees just like they were facing God himself. A special feeling.
