Palm trees, shopping and the Palace hotel in Souk Al Bahar, Dubai

The Souk Al Bahar bridge with it towers is something that attracks attention. Around the Souk and the lake of the Dubai Fountains lake, you have a spectacular walking promenade. In the Souk you find many restaurants, shops and the Palace hotel. We personally went to the souk because we had seen a beautiful postcard with water, palm trees and the Burj Khalifa. It was taken from in the souk. After a 15 minute walk, we found the place which gave us an opportunity to make a good photo of this amazing view. It is the last picture of the article. De Souk Al Bahar brug met zijn torens is iets dat veel aandacht trekt. Rond de soek en het meer van de Dubai Fountains, vind je een spectaculaire wandel promenade. In de soek kan je winkelen, heb je vele restaurants en het Palace hotel. Persoonlijk waren wij hier met een ander doel, we hadden een postkaart gezien met palmbomen, water en de Burj Khalifa. Deze was genomen van in de soek. Na een kwartiertje wandelen vonden we de locatie. Dit gaf ons de mogelijkheid een soortgelijke foto te maken van deze unieke combinatie. Dubai Deira – The spices souk – 40 years of UAE celebration

In Dubai Deira we are going to visit the local markets and souks. We start at the spice souk and the name says it all, they are selling spices and herbs. These shops are close to the Dubai creek and in the older part of the city. The spices are displayed in front of the shop in large volume bags. As soon as you come within a distance of 10 meter you get a feeling of the aroma. Next to the spices souk you see a building block with the UAE flag draped arcos the wall, each apartment also hold a smaller flag. In this period the 40 year anniversary of the UAE is being celebrated.

In Dubai Deira gaan we de lokale marktjes en soeks bezoeken. We starten bij de kruiden soek, en de naam zegt bijna alles, ze verkopen hier kruiden en specerijen. Deze winkeltjes zijn dichtbij de Dubai Creek in het oudere gedeelte van de stad. Kruiden worden ten toon gesteld in grote zakken op de stoep voor de winkel. Op een afstand van 10 meter komt het aroma je reeds tegemoet. Naast de kruiden soek zie je een flatgebouw waarop de UAE vlag hangt, ieder appartement heeft nog een klein vlagje. Gedurende deze periode wordt de 40ste verjaardag van de UAE gevierd..
