University library, Leuven (Universiteitsbibliotheek)

The University library in Leuven is located in several buildings. This blog article however is focussing on the central library on Ladeuzeplein 21. It's a fantastic building from architect Whitney Warren and was build from 1921 till 1928. The collection of 1,3 million books is mainly composed of reference and heritage books, and literature. Connected to the library building you find the carillon tower open for visitors, but only after making a reservation. Inside the library you find vaulted ceilings on the ground floor and on the first floor beautiful wood carved staircases. Certainly worth a visit.

Holland Dans Spektakel 2010, Cuijk

In Cuijk, there are always many couples participating. This year, the D-Class was 27 couples strong. It was a field with good quality dancers and we were expecting difficulties to qualify directly for the semi-final. We finished the first round in second place with 14 crosses. After a good performance in the semi-final we were announced as first couple for the final. We finished the competition in 7th place. A very unlucky situation, two adjudicators gave us all first places and the three other adjudicators gave us only 7th places. How is this possible? Luckily our trainers, Tony and Amanda Dokman have given us positive feedback on our progression. We are already looking forward to our next competition.
