Playa de la Victoria, Cadiz

Playa de la Victoria starts just at the edge of the old city center marked by the entrance gate and city wall. The walking promenades are great and beach lovers can go down on the sand. This is exactly what we did, close to the water line, feeling the warm breeze. The skyline shows the television tower and cathedral.

Playa de la Victoria begint net aan de rand van de oude stad gemarkeerd door de toegangspoort en stadsmuur. De wandelpromenades zijn zeer goed en strandliefhebbers kunnen naar beneden in het zand. Dit is exact wat wij hebben gedaan, dicht bij de waterlijn met een warm bries in het gezicht. De skyline toont de televisietoren en de kathedraal.

Pure fish restaurant Miramar in Cambrils

Restaurant Miramar in Cambrils has a nice interior. Tables are well set-up and staff is friendly. It is a higher class family restaurant with a robust style of fish preparation. The sommelier is tending to recommend dry white wines with the menu.

We started with a seafood tartar and a lobster salad. As second starter we had the Gatell style scampi prepared in a creamy orange sauce, it was delicious. As main courses we had squid and monk fish.

The restaurant offers a large selection of patisserie at your choice. An excellent finish after a fish menu.

Restaurant Miramar heeft een prachtig interieur. De tafeltjes zijn mooi opgedekt en het personeel vriendelijk. Het is één van de hogere kwaliteit familie restaurants die op een robuuste wijze visgerechten serveren. De sommelier lijkt wel van droge witte wijnen te houden, die hij graag aanbeveelt bij het vismenu. 

We begonnen met een zeevruchten tartaar en kreeftensalade. Als tweede voorgerecht kozen we de Gatell stijl gemaakte scampi's in een romige appelsiensaus. Dit was overheerlijk. Als hoofdgerechten kozen we voor inktvis en witvis. 

Het restaurant biedt een grote selectie gebak naar keuze aan. Een uitstekend eind na een vismenu.

Fort of San Sebastian, Cadiz

In front of Caleya Beach, you find a little island connected to the main land. It holds a fort, chapel and lighthouse. Already in the 15th century, they started constructing buildings on this small piece of land.

It offers visitors great opportunities to walk away from the beach and view the rocky surface when the sea pulls back. Many people search for crabs and shrimp between the stones. Careful because it is very slippery. What a great place to have a walk.

Voor Caleya Beach vind je een klein eilandje dat verbonden is met het vaste land. Er staat een kapel, fort en vuurtoren. Reeds in de 15de eeuw werden hier de eerste gebouwen opgetrokken op dit kleine stukje grond. 

Het biedt bezoekers goede mogelijkheden van het strand weg te wandelen en de rotsachtige ondergrond te aanschouwen wanneer de zee zich terug trekt. Velen zoeken hier krabben, schelpen en garnalen tussen de stenen. Opgelet want het is er zeer glad. Wat een fantastische plaats om te wandelen.
