General Impressions of Villefranche-sur-Mer a little town at the Cote D’azur

The Celebrity Equinox sails into the bay of Villefranche-sur-Mer, the ship is however too big to dock. As a consequence we have to tender. As Elite members of Celebrity cruises got a priority tender so we don’t have to wait. The luxury Regent cruise ship, Seven Seas Mariner is also in the bay. Unfortunately it was raining.

The town has beautiful houses in all colours. On the left side you see the citadel constructed in the 16th century, its main goal was to protect the port. The small religious building is called Cocteau Chapel. The village is located between the famous beach locations of Nice and Monaco.

On our walk on the boulevard we see a local fisherman rowing his sloop. He is on the water together with his dog. We are wondering why, are they inseparable? It is a cute sight, a hard fisherman with his hairy friend.

  2. You have so many things of interest here today. I love the first shot of the houses on the mountain, and the fourth shot of the wonderful colorful houses with the people and their umbrellas. That would make a wonderful portrait to hang on a wall.

  7. Lovely colourful houses/apartments. Don't know if I like them as I am not used to looking at such bold colours on buildings, but would get used to it. The people that live there wouldn't know any different :)
