The port is located directly at the city centre and an ideal stop for cruise ships. It is however a bit strange to see the giant Celebrity Equinox next to small sailing boats. You get an instant feeling of the size of the vessel.
Cartagena has a wonderful walking promenade with palm trees, restaurants, museums and shops. In some places you even have outdoor art displays like a bronze thinking man, amphora’s and the tail from a whale in the dock.
De haven ligt pal aan het stadscentrum en is een ideale stopplaats voor cruise schepen. Het is wel bijzonder de enorme Celebrity Equinox te zien naast vele kleine zeilbootjes. Je krijgt onmiddellijk een idee van de grootte van het schip.
Cartagena heeft een mooie wandelpromenade met palmbomen, restaurants, musea en winkeltjes. Op sommige plaatsen vind je zelfs kunstvoorwerpen zoals de denkende bronzen man, Romeinse wijnkruiken en de staart van een walvis in het dok.

ReplyDelete(yes, that stable has a lot of arabian horses. one of my old mares had been stabled there for a while. my two horses are both arabians.)
The promenade walk looks lovely and so too the sculptures.

ReplyDeleteI've only ever been on one, they are floating cities. I think the cruise ships pollute the view and beauty of such a lovely port.
