Cathedral de Santa Eulalia or the main cathedral of Barcelona

When people refer to the cathedral of Barcelona from a tourist perspective, everyone is thinking of the Sagrada Familia which is still under construction and already more famous than the Santa Eulalia Cathedral. From a religious perspective, this is the most important building of the region.

It was also surprising to us, we have been several times in Barcelona and visited Sagrada Familia three times. We never heard of this gothic church from the 13th century before. It took them almost 3 centuries to complete the construction works but the result is fabulous. Next to the facade, the high arched ceilings were the most impressive. Christianity is still so popular in Barcelona that they were running several messes after each other during the morning and early afternoon. We hardly could visti the church.
