Dining in Aqua, the gourmet restaurant of Four Seasons Bosphorus, Istanbul

We like the Four Seasons Group and have dined already in four of these world class hotels, in Istanbul, Miami and Paris. The Aqua restaurant of this Four Seasons hotel has a fantastic interior, we had a quick look at the menu and made reservations for the evening. Walking outside we took a picture of a red and white Ferrari.

Later in the evening the garden lights and the Bosphorus Bridge were like in a fairytale. Everywhere in the hotel you saw flowers and the corridor leading to the restaurant had modern green lights. It is a romantic restaurant and the food was very good. We added a description to each picture.

We just started our dinner when we saw Dutch people entering the restaurant. It was Wesley Sneijder together with Yolanthe Cabau his wife. Wesley is the captain of the Dutch national football team and his wife a model. He now plays for Galatasaray in Istanbul. We respected their privacy and added a picture from the internet.

We houden van de Four Seasons Group en hebben reeds in vier van hun wereldklasse hotels gast geweest, in Istanboel, Miami en Parijs. Het Aqua restaurant van dit Four Seasons hotel heeft een fantastisch interieur, we keken vluchtig in het menu en reserveerden een tafeltje voor het avondmaal. Buiten namen we nog enkele foto’s van een rode en witte Ferrari.

Later op de avond met de tuinlichtjes aan, en de Bosphorus Brug, leek het wel op een sprookje. Overal in het hotel stonden er bloemen en de gang naar het restaurant kleurde modern groen. Er hangt romantiek in het restaurant en het eten was zeer lekker. Bij iedere foto is een beschrijving toegevoegd. 

We waren nog maar net aan onze voorgerechten begonnen toen er enkele beroemde Nederlandse het restaurant binnen wandelden. Het was Wesley Sneijder samen met zijn echtgenote Yolanthe Cabau. Hij is de aanvoerder van het Nederlandse Nationale voetbal team en zijn vrouw een top model. Wesley speelt nu bij Galatasaray in Istanboel. We respecteerden hun privacy en voegden een foto toe van op het internet..

Sushi buffet in the Four Seasons Hotel Sultanahmet, Istanbul

The Four Seasons Hotel group is one of our favourites. We like to visit their restaurants for brunch, a lunch or dinner. The hotel setting is always unique and the quality is high. Staying in the hotel is another matter, for our wallet too expensive.

The Four Seasons Sultanahmet in Istanbul is located in a former prison. The prison was built in 1919 and kept this function until 1970. Prisoners were obliged to work within this penetary institute.

Today, the building is a luxury 5 star hotel. The facade is still original like in the prison days but the interior and facilities have changed. Like in every Four Seasons hotel, you find nice flower decorations. The lounge and bar area have a classical look and feel. The gardens are beautiful and the restaurant is located in the garden pergola.

During our visit, we discovered the hotel was serving a sushi buffet on Friday evening. We made reservations and were very pleased. The sushi and sashimi was of high quality and we enjoyed it with a glass of Turkish white wine.

De Four Seasons hotel groep is een van onze favoriete hotelketens. We bezoeken regelmatig hun restaurants voor een brunch, lunch of diner. Hun hotels zijn altijd uniek en van hoge kwaliteit. Het verblijven in een Four Seasons hotel is een ander paar mouwen, gewoon te duur voor onze portemonnee.

Het Four Seasons Sultanahmet in Istanboel was een voormalige gevangenis. De gevangenis werd gebouwd in 1919 en vervulde deze functie tot 1970. De gedetineerden waren verplicht te werken binnen de muren.

Nu is het gebouw een luxe 5 sterren hotel. De gevel is nog steeds gelijk aan die van de gevangenis maar het interieur en de faciliteiten zijn opgewaardeerd. Gelukkig maar. Net als ieder Four Seasons hotel zijn bloemen overal aanwezig. Het salon en de bar hebben een klassieke en warme uitstraling. De tuinen zijn mooi en het restaurant is gelegen in een pergola. 

Tijdens ons bezoek ontdekten we dat het hotel op vrijdagavond een sushi buffet serveerde. We besloten een tafeltje te boeken en waren heel tevreden. De sushi en de sashimi waren van uitstekende kwaliteit en we genoten van de Turkse witte wijn..
