Monthly blog report and Top Commentators January 2015

The first month of 2015 is already behind us, time flies when you are having fun or a lot of work. While you are reading the summary of the month, we are dancing a world ranking competition in Antwerp. In January we reached our highest world ranking position in the WDSF Senior I standard: place 76. Let’s hope we can stay around this position the coming months.

Collages of Singapore, Thailand and Colombia were added below. In total we published 19 articles from Colombia, Malaysia, Thailand, Singapore, The Netherlands and Spain. More diverse than previous months, something we enjoy. We end with a list of our most frequent commentators.

De eerste maand van 2015 is reeds voorbij, de tijd vliegt als je plezier en veel werk hebt. Terwijl jullie deze samenvatting lezen dansen wij een wereld ranking competitie in Antwerpen. Deze maand bereikten we onze hoogste WDSF Senior I, ranking positie ooit: de 76ste plaats. Laat ons hopen dat we dit kunnen handhaven de komende maanden.

Monthly Blog Report and Top Commentators June 2014

Last month we were surprised of how high our blog traffic was but we are still attracting more visitors. During June we received on average 4 hits a minute which resulted in more than 172.000 monthly hits from 120 different countries. We can’t be happier with this result.

It was a special month with only articles from Spanish speaking countries like Peru, Argentina and Spain. We don’t know the language but luckily we could find our way using English. You would not expect this but in Peru and Argentina, it is easier to communicate in English than in Spain. Probably those Latin American countries have a closer trade relation with the USA.

Our highlight of the month was undoubtedly Machu Picchu. The lost city of the Inca’s in Peru and one of the new seven World Wonders. We thank all our visitors and below you find the traditional collages, this time of South America, and the list of Top Commentators.

Vorige maand waren we verbaasd over hoe hoog ons blogverkeer was maar we trekken nog steeds meer bezoekers aan. In juni kregen we gemiddeld 4 hits per minuut wat resulteert in meer dan 172.000 bezoeken deze maand van 120 verschillende landen. Dit maakt ons heel blij.

Het was een bijzondere maand met enkel artikelen van Spaans sprekende landen zoals Peru, Argentinië en Spanje. Wij beheersen echter niet de Spaanse taal maar konden gemakkelijk onze weg vinden in het Engels. Je zou het echter niet verwachten dat het niveau van Engels in Peru en Argentinië, hoger ligt dan in Spanje, maar dit is de realiteit. Communicatie met de lokale bevolking is frequenter mogelijk en dit heeft hoogstwaarschijnlijk te maken met de handelsrelaties van Zuid-Amerika met de VS. 

Het hoogtepunt van de maand was ontegensprekelijk Machu Picchu. De Verloren Stad van de Inca’s in Peru en één van de zeven Nieuwe Wereldwonderen. We bedanken al onze bezoekers en hieronder vind je de traditionele collages van de maand en lijst van Top Commentators.

Monthly Blog Report and Top Commentators May 2014

Our blog traffic is still increasing, this month we had more than 125.000 views, a new record. We fear when Google is changing its search algorithms, everything will collapse and we will drop to normal traffic around 50.000 a month. We will see.

As promised, we started our series of South America and are still in the first country, Peru. Many readers have placed positive comments and confirm interest in this continent. This doesn’t come as a surprise because Peru is a marvelous country with so much to offer in terms of culture, nature, traditions and good food.

In May we wrote about five countries: Belgium, The Netherlands, Italy, Spain and Peru. Our blog received many comments and we are super happy with the increased interaction between us and many of our loyal readers. Below you find again, the traditional picture collages of the month and a list of Top Commentators. We hope they receive more visitors via this list.

Ons blogverkeer is nog steeds aan het stijgen, deze maand hadden we meer als 125.000 hits, een nieuw record. We vrezen er een beetje voor als Google zijn zoek algoritmes gaat wijzigen dat ons verkeer in elkaar gaat storten tot een niveau van ongeveer 50.000 per maand. We zien wel. 

Zoals beloofd, hebben we deze maand voor de eerste keer over Latijns-Amerika gepubliceerd en we zijn nog steeds aan het eerste land, Peru. Vele lezers hebben positief gereageerd en bevestigen hun interesse in dit continent. Dit komt niet als een verrassing want Peru is een prachtig land met een groot aanbod in cultuur, natuur, tradities en lekker eten. 

Gedurende mei schreven we over vijf landen: België, Nederland, Italië, Spanje en Peru. Onze blog kreeg vele commentaren en we zijn heel blij met de interactie tussen bezoekers en trouwe lezers. Hieronder vind je terug de fotocollages van de maand en de lijst van Top Commentators. We hopen dat ze via deze lijst meer volgers krijgen.

Top commentators of March 2014, a new visitors record

This month we received more than 92.000 hits on our blog, a new record. Although we are very proud, we would like to get above the magical number of 100.000 a month. Would this be possible? Maybe, who knows? Please share our blog on social media if you would like to support us.

We don’t understand how this is possible because we published only 15 articles this month. When you travel and collect information and pictures for future articles you can not always publish. We were for 6 weeks in Latin America and most of the time didn’t even have an internet connection. Our publications of Latin America will start during the month of May. We saw so many spectacular places that we can hardly wait.

During March, we wrote about two countries from southern Europe: Spain and Malta. Some of the pictures bring back fantastic memories which are reflected in the picture collages. Since we were not active on our blog this month, we received fewer comments. Below you find the list of March 2014 commentators, thank you for your support.

Deze maand kregen we meer dan 92.000 hits op onze blog, een nieuw record. Hier zijn we toch wel trots op maar hopen toch boven het magische getal van 100.000 per maand te geraken. Zou dit mogelijk zijn? Misschien, wie weet? Als je ons wil helpen, deel dan onze blog op social media sites.

We begrijpen wel niet hoe dit mogelijk was daar we maar 15 artikelen hebben gepubliceerd deze maand. Als je reist, informatie verzamelt en foto’s maakt voor toekomstige artikelen kan je niet iedere dag publiceren. Gedurende 6 weken hebben we door Zuid-Amerika gereisd en meestal hadden we geen internet connectie. Onze artikelen van Zuid-Amerika zullen worden gepubliceerd vanaf mei. We hebben zoveel bijzondere plaatsen gezien dat we bijna niet kunnen wachten dit met u te delen. 

Tijdens de maand maart schreven we enkel over twee landen: Malta en Spanje. Sommige foto’s zijn fantastische herinneringen en dit is te zien in de collages. Daar we niet actief waren deze maand kregen we ook minder commentaren. Hieronder vind je de lijst van top commentators, dank U voor uw ondersteuning.

Top commentators of February 2014, Mr. Robot

We shouldn't be too happy about this, our blog received more than 3.000 comments from Mr. Robot this month. The positive news is that we get noticed on the web, the negative is that we have to erase these irrelavent comments regularly. It is impossible to refuse Anomynous postings because this affects our real readers who than encounter difficulties posting comments.

February was a special month. We wrote only about Belgium, Spain and Malta. Three countries is not that much but we hope the content was satisfactory. We assume many people liked it since we recieved 58.000 visits in February. A new record was established.

This was also the month we had to slow down publishing. Instead of one article every day, we now write every second day. This will continue until mid April. From that moment onwards we will be able to spend more time on the blog again. We end our monthly review with some collages and a list of our top commentators. Thanks for following and sharing our blog with your friends.

We moeten hier niet zo blij om zijn, we kregen meer dan 3.000 commentaren van Mr. Robot deze maand. Het positieve nieuws is dat we worden gezien op het web, aan negatieve zijde moeten we deze niet relevante commentaren regelmatig wissen. Het is echter onmogelijk anonieme commentaren te blokkeren daar onze lezers die iets willen posten hierdoor moeilijkheden ondervinden.

Februari was een speciale maand. We schreven slechts over drie landen: België, Spanje en Malta. We hopen echter dat de inhoud wel in de smaak viel. Dat kan bijna niet anders daar we 58.000 bezoeken kregen deze maand. Een nieuw record is gevestigd. 

Dit was ook de maand waarin we trager gingen publiceren. In plaats van één artikel per dag, schrijven we nu elke twee dagen. Dit tempo blijven we aanhouden tot midden april. Vanaf dat moment zullen we terug meer tijd aan de blog kunnen spenderen. We eindigen ons maandelijks artikel met enkele foto collages en de lijst van top commentators. Bedankt om onze blog te volgen en deze met jullie vrienden te delen.
