Ladyboys in the Simon Cabaret, Phuket

Simon Cabaret is the longest running cabaret show in Phuket. We have been a few times in the last decade but we keep going back, even after some disappointment. We have to fair, price quality this show is outstanding. All for about 12 euro a person. You should not expect the top.

Before the show we enjoyed a cocktail in the bar. The seats in the theatre are very good and costumes of the dancers perfect. There is even an element of comedy. Overall a good evening and not expensive.

Whe did not like the playback singing and unsynchronised dancing. We believe this show could be a lot better with the right choreographer, practise and stability of the crew. The Calypso show in Bangkok was better but tourists who visit the first time Phuket should consider going to Simon Cabaret. Price value this show is a good choice and most performers are ladyboys. These are men who dress up like a woman or had surgery to become female, something which occurs regularly in Thailand. Enjoy!

Simon Cabaret is de langst lopende cabaret show in Phuket. We waren er reeds geweest ongeveer tien jaar geleden. Toen was het iets teleurstellend maar we besloten het toch opnieuw te proberen. Het dient te worden vermeld dat de prijs kwaliteit van de show uitstekend is.Voor ongeveer 12 euro per persoon kan je niet de top verwachten.

Voor de show genoten we van een cocktail in de bar. De zetels in het theater zijn zeer goed en de kledij van dansers ongelooflijk. Er was zelfs een vleugje humor in de voorstelling. In het algemeen een mooie avond en niet duur.

Het playbacken is echter zeer zwak en de dansers waren echt niet synchroon. We zijn er van overtuigd dat deze show zo veel beter kan worden gemaakt met de juiste choreograaf, meer doorgedreven repetitie en minder verloop bij de dansers. Het Calypso theater in Bangkok was veel beter maar toeristen die Phuket voor de eerste keer bezoeken dienen het Simon Cabaret toch te overwegen. Het blijft een leuke avond en de meeste dansers zijn ladyboys. Dit zijn mannen die zich verkleden als vrouw of door de plastische geneeskunde zijn omgetoverd in beeldmooie dames. Dit is iets wat veelvuldig voorkomt in Thailand, geniet er van.

Phuket Fantasea, the most spectacular and biggest show on the island, Phuket

There is a lot of entertainment in Phuket but this show is without any doubt the biggest and the most spectacular. Each evening about 3.000 tourists visit the Palace of Elephants where the show theatre is located. The hundreds of actors and acrobats tell us about the legend of the Prince of Kamala. The lights are dimmed and the drums come alive. Tens of elephants enter the theatre, extremely close to the people sitting in the middle of the room.

Before the show you can enjoy a dinner buffet or walk around in the park. All shops are decorated with lights and there is a small zoo displaying a white tiger. On one of the outdoor stages, they warm up the public with life rock music and dancing. Phuket Fantasea should not be missed when you are on the island.

Er zijn heel veel uitgangsmogelijkheden in Phuket maar deze show is zonder enige twijfel de grootste en meest spectaculaire show van het eiland. Iedere avond komen hier ongeveer 3.000 toeristen naar het theater “Het Paleis van de Olifanten”. Honderden acteurs en acrobaten vertellen ons de legende van de Prins van Kamala. De lichten worden gedimd en de trommels ontwaken. Aan de middelste rij van het theater komen tientallen olifanten binnen gewandeld. Zo dicht dat de toeschouwers ze wel kunnen aanraken. 

Voor de show kan je iets eten in het buffetrestaurant of rondwandelen in het park. Alle winkeltjes zijn mooi verlicht en er is een kleine zoo waar men een witte tijger heeft. Op één van de openlucht podia warmt een rockband en enkele dansers het publiek op. Phuket Fantasea is een show die je niet mag missen als je op het eiland bent.
