Tropical rainforest adventure via platforms and zip lines, St. Lucia

This was our second visit to a tropical rainforest. The first time we were looking for plants, flowers and animals in Costa Rica, this time we were looking for spectacular views and adventure. Entering the facilities of the “Treetop Adventure Park” we were already impressed by the flowers, big leaves, plants and very high trees. The guides invited us into a container where on our gear and safety equipment was pulled on. Ten minutes later we were ready for twenty platforms and twelve zip lines.

I could not keep my glasses on because the humidity and physical exercise was going to lead to heavy sweating. The first zip line was short and slow but still it was a challenge. Once we had some experience it all went smooth, some of the lines were more than 200 metres long and a lot faster, so we were covering long distances. Occasionally we crossed ponds or small rivers, the lines were so long you could not see where you would end up. We were swallowed up by the jungle. Participants were supported by two guides on the whole track. The safety measures were extremely good. A great adrenaline experience.

  6. Oh my goodness! This was a wild adventure, to be sure!!! I love this last picture, a job well done!! Ballroom dancing keeps you strong, people don't know how much exercise it is! Then you can do things like this with no trouble!

  11. It looks like fun, but it seems you go too fast to see anything. I guess it's for the adrenaline and not for sightseeing.
