The last Christmas lights of Leuven by night

The New Year has started and soon all Christmas light will disappear again. We decided to take a walk through the city of Leuven a take a few pictures of decorated buildings and squares. It was a cold evening and carrying a metal tripod without gloves is very uncomfortable. All our pictures were taken with a shot delay and an opening speed of 6 seconds. Impossible to do without the tripod and we were pleased with the results.

On the pictures you see: the "Oude Markt", the "City Hall and St. Peter Church", "Rector de Somerplein" with the crystal Cinderella shoe, the "University Library" and the area around the train station.

  1. Gosh - I loved these, Filip. I dislike using my tripod, but the night photos you've taken show the advantage. Where is the snow?

  2. Oh my goodness, this is just delightful. This is exactly the kind of evening that I'd love to stroll about right around Christmas time, with my sweetie pie!

  8. Love Cinderella's shoe and the modern apartment lights. You were tough to do this in the cold weather. Try taking night lights just before all the daylight has gone when the sky is dark navy blue. It shows the building outlines better.
