Stair climbing to visit the churches of Girona

Girona has many churches and some of the church towers are visible from the river banks. Once you are in the narrow streets of the city center, it is harder to orientate yourself and find the right alley to visit a church. Whatever you do, you will have to climb stairs before reaching your goal.

We love how the houses are integrated on the hill, real craftsmanship in building arches and special shapes to conquer uneven grounds. Some of the church facades contain an impressive number of statues and decorations. We did not enter the cathedral because you were not allowed to take pictures inside even dough you had to pay entrance.
