A walk in the snow through the Warandepark, Brussels

Warande Park in the city centre of Brussels is located near the Wetstraat and the Royal Palace. It was cold, the ground was covered with snow and pigeons approached us, hoping to get some bread. We didn’t expect this and were a bit disappointed we couldn’t give them any food. The winter can be hard and cruel for birds.

The park contains a fountain, several statues and above all modern art related to subjects close the heart of the people of Brussels or Belgium. Topics we see are: sprouts, frites, mussels, newspapers, beer and the Flemish lion. We wonder how this park would look like in the summer. We will try to go back and show it to you.

  8. This is a wild and crazy park! These modern art pieces look like giant Hershey's kisses or plungers with hot air balloons attached.

  10. I am "glad" that the snow is elsewhere, too. And in Brussels, the snow seems to be almoust a litlle bit more than in Helsinki centrum.
    Your photo are lovely.
