General Impressions of Ljubljana, the capital of Slovenia

Ljubljana is a small capital with less than 300.000 inhabitants. We visited the city intensely in about 6 hours. For us this was enough time to see the main attractions. We even walked twice around the Old City which is cut in two by the Ljubljanica River.

One of the most important pieces of architecture is called the three bridges. In this area you find many renaissance buildings. The weather was excellent and we enjoyed walking alongside the river, seeing the market and drinking a Lasko beer on a terrace. Kristel bought a nice leather handbag.

We would certainly recommend to visit the cathedral and the castle on the hill above the capital. Ljubljana is a great city to consider for a weekend trip.
