Terrace and restaurant of the Tides hotel on Ocean Drive, Miami Beach

The Tides Hotel on Ocean Drive is an Art Deco monument, it is even visited by guided tours. Most of the time they have excellent weather in the Sunshine State Florida and a terrace like this on Ocean Drive is exceptional. The Tides terrace is an ideal place to relax with a glass of wine or enjoy a snack for lunch.

Entering the hotel lobby and restaurant is impressive. The walls are decorated with turtle shields which is unique. There were however almost no customers and this was already a first sign. The service and food were just average, nothing special. This was a big disappointment since the hotel displays enormous luxury and prestige. They need to work hard to bring their restaurant to an adequate level.

  2. Oh my I can almost taste that tuna melting in my mouth! I would title this post- Oh What Fun We Are Having- no wait, that's your entire trip! What great fun, and best part is you're sharing it with us. We may have to venture around some of the same places, that you've posted, and highlighted. Beautiful spots! Those shells are amazing!

  3. All these turtle shells are different, but kind of sad to me. I don't think I would enjoy my food looking at all those shells from dead turtles! So you think they would have better business if they had better service and food? The food LOOKS good...

  5. This place looks impressive, I love the turtle shells but agree with Ginny, it's not the type of thing I'd want to have to look at while I'm dining. It's a shame the food wasn't that great, it looks all right, but in an establishment such as this one would expect first class meals.

The outdoors look impressive, that's my kind of weather! Sunshine and beaches, not this snow and cold!

    Have a wonderful weekend!
