Modern buildings of The Hague, the governmental capital of The Netherlands

The Dutch city of The Hague is expanding and high rise modern buildings dominate the skyline. We are walking from the Central train station to the Spuiplein where you find the Lucent Danstheater and the City Hall. In the Rijnstraat you walk under the glass office building. One of the ministry buildings makes me think of a concrete Christmas tree, the “Hoftoren” is a split tower of glass and the Zurich building has a fascinating green round dome.

On the “Muzenplein” we enter the modern living quarters. Here you find apartment blocks in the shadow of the skyscrapers. A weeping face stands in front of the entrance, it looks nice but I wonder why the mask cries? Standing in the middle of the apartment blocks while facing the black “Muzentoren” you feel small but impressed. This would be too crowded for me to live here but a dream for people who like living in the heart of a major city. A lonely city pigeon poses in front of my camera.
