Luxury and fantastic breakfast in Hotel Die Swaene, Brugge

Hotel Die Swaene is probably the most famous hotel in Brugge. The hotel dates from the 18th century and is member of the SLH, the Small Luxury Hotels of the World. Only 6 hotels in Belgium have the privilege to be part of this group. Hotel “Die Swaene” was once the location for a police episode of ASPE. The hotel service was excellent, valet parking, baggage delivered to your room, free map of Brugge with tips, and a perfect tour in the hotel with welcome drink in the 250 year old salon.

We had a room under the roof with a super view on the historical centre of Brugge. Above our bed, a golden angel was looking down, luckily the light is out at night. Next to the bedroom we had a small lounge and two small bathrooms. The interior of our rooms was antique like the hotel and tasteful. In the late afternoon we enjoyed a sauna next to the indoor swimming pool. The breakfast was excellent with top ingredients. I would certainly recommend this hotel to everyone, a historic hotel in a historic city.

  3. Hi Filip, What a grand old hotel - I love the intricate wainscoting & ceiling details. That angel above the bed looks a bit combative. I'm in the city now - a beautiful springlike day here in Denver so the snow is melting rapidly.
