On the first picture, you see our ship next to a very big sail boat in the harbour of Warnemünde. It was rather cloudy but we didn’t have rain, good enough to enjoy the beach and town. It was the first time we visited a German beach location and the chairs on the beach were very special, like going back in history. Between the harbour and the beach there was a sand sculpture festival. Aren’t these great artists who make this just out of sand?

Yes Filip, you are correct - these chairs are like going back in time! The sand sculptures are incredible - on the photo they look like made of stone. You both seem to be very happy on your trip! Christa
ReplyDeleteYour fotos are wonderful ... insanely fabulous. Thanks for sharing.
ReplyDeleteI've never seen chairs like that than just in the old movies. I love that picture with beach chairs front the sea.
Amazing sand art!
Have a nice trip both of you.

Great fun - the beach chairs and the sand sculptures make for wonderful images.
ReplyDeletethe beach chair called "Strandkörbe" are very typical for the German coast...I love them, one can have them in different colours and they make the beach happier:-) dont you think so?
ReplyDelete@Daniel Chiam: the wooden boxes are helping people enjoying the sun on the beach but while being protected from the wind, very cool, no? One may turn them in any direction;
It is cool indeed and very convenient for visitors too. Ahhh the thoughts of chilling out at the beach with cold breezy wind... Bliss! :D
DeleteSand sculptures always amaze me and these are beauties. Its interesting how different peoples enjoy their beaches. By the clothing I'd say it was pretty cool on the beach and those chairs probably provide some shelter.
ReplyDeleteJa zeg, bijzonder om te zien allemaal. Mooie foto's.
ReplyDeleteGroetjes, Mirthe

ReplyDeleteLie(f)s.
ReplyDeleteThere is real talent for building such intricate sand sculptures and knowing they are only temporary. I like those beach chairs and the sand is really deep.
ReplyDeleteLove those chairs, and the sand sculptings are amazing! Seems as if they would be so transient.
