Animal displays and architecture at the Natural History Museum, Helsinki

Standing in front of the building of the Natural History Museum of Finland makes you think, how can I make a good picture of the building with al these outdoor electricity cables? The museum tries to add a funny element to place giraffe statues on one of the balconies and we appreciated it. The museum itself has thousands of animals on display, we added a few pictures of an elephant, lynx, tiger in the snow, and the dinosaur hall. Sometimes it was difficult to take pictures because of the glass reflections. The museum invests months of labour to make one new display stand so that they show us the natural environment animals live in. To end our article we show two pictures of a fantastic staircase.

  10. This natural history museum looks awesome. I love this sort of museum and have gone many times to the one in Chicago. Do you shoot your photos on manual settings? It makes it much easier to shoot with glass displays as you do not get any reflection not using flash. What sort of camera do you use? By the way, these giraffes are really cute, and look carved. Quite a staircase too.

Electricity line and traffic poles always in the way of photography...have to make the best of a bad situation.
