The Loreta church and pilgrimage in the Prague Hradčany district

For me this is the second most beautiful church of Prague and this is an achievement with so many churches in the city. When you approach the church and monastery, you descent via an outdoor staircase flanked with statues of angels. The white yellow front façade of the Loreta complex is an eye catcher. The Baroque church is famous but rather young, it contains about 400 years of history. The centre building in the inner court is called Santa Casa, this is the heart of the pilgrimage. Around the courtyard there is a gallery with covered chapels. The church of the Nativity of Our Lord is richly decorated in Rococo style. To visit the church you need to pay a fee and if you want to take pictures, you have to pay extra. They understand the principles of the free market in the Loreta sanctuary of Prague.
